Meet the Head of the Writing Program

Meet Kat Montagu – Program Head, Senior Story Editor for Crazy8s, and bestselling author (The Dreaded Curse: Screenplay Formatting for Film & Television) – as she explains how Âé¶¹¹Ù꿉۪s Writing program trains artists to create new worlds for film, television, and games. This is a first-hand explanation of where the industry started, where it is now, and how students today are evolving this craft. Find out how Kat continues to be a powerful voice in the industry by constantly creating, pitching, and working.

Sara B Cooper | Writing and Showrunning for Television

Writer/Producer and Âé¶¹¹ÙÍø Writing Instructor Sara B Cooper will join host Devon Martinez (Writing Program Coordinator) for an in-person Industry Talk on Writing and Showrunning for Television. With over 30 years of experience writing for film & television, Sara has written for series such as Star Trek: The Next Generation, Continuum, Combat Hospital, and House M.D., and was a co-writer on the 2001 hit Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.

Sara will discuss the development process behind bringing a television concept to life, navigating her career in the entertainment industry, and how to adapt an existing IP (intellectual property) to television. The Industry Talk will conclude with a Q&A.
